I've been a busy little worker bee adding more vintage inspired dresses in the shop this week! I'm actually quite excited because a majority of the orders I've packaged recently have all been for the pretty vintage inspired clothing in the shop. So a huge THANK YOU to you mes amies!
Today I am so excited to release the Matilde Dress as the latest addition to the vintage inspired dresses collection here at savadyblog! I adore her soft feminine silhouette, very reminiscent of the 1970s but a little of that 1930s vibe too especially with this scattered blue floral print.
“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in--what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.” - Victor Hugo, Les Misreables
So I actually have to share a funny story about when my husband and I took these photos of me wearing the Matilde dress. First off it was SO FRICKIN hot. I mean thankfully this dress is really breezy and light! However, I think my misery of it being in the low 90s in SEPTEMBER in PORTLAND is plainly on my face.
I am so hoping to look pensive, thoughtful... I was trying to think of lovely thoughts of owning this garden I was walking through. My own garden sadly looks nothing like this.
Anyhow, just minutes before we snapped these photos my husband got attacked by HORNETS! There was this beautiful field I was smitten with and wanted to waltz through was home to a rather angry nest of hornets! So no field photos!
I really should post the BLOOPER photos because those hornets were chasing us around for awhile and then BEES. Which I don't mind so much, I think bumblebees are so frickin cute! But at this point I was a little paranoid... and my husband was just like "Quick, just pose real quick, ok, smile, there's a bee in your hair! RUN!" And this went on for a bit...
Ahh...see how photos can be so deceiving? Here you were thinking I was having such a lovely peaceful afternoon while wearing this pretty floral wrap dress... and I was actually evading an attack of hornets and trying not to melt.
