Army's Buckley Named Patriot League Scholar
To be eligible for the Scholar Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All Patriot League Team, a student athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
Buckley becomes the League fourth back to back Scholar Athlete of the Year in the sport, and first since Army Scott Rosenshein in 2008 09. He has started all 12 of his team games on defense this season with 21 groundballs and 19 caused turnovers. Buckley earned first team All League laurels Tuesday in addition to his Defensive Player of the Year nod.
